Australia prisoners strike for pay increment
Australia jail inmates murderers and drug dealers gone on strike for demanding pay increase.
Prisoners on went on strike they have downed tools and refuse to work. Prisoners must work as part of their sentence and currently they paid Aus $6.50 and Aus $8.95 equaly to US$4.95 and US$6.85 depending on their works.
Prisoners spokesman said The wages paid are lot less than in other states in Australia and it doesn't meet their increasing costs, there's been lack of any CPI(inflation) which has left them with less buying power.
All prisoners were required to perform tasks including gardening and maintenance, for those refuses had been confined to their cell, said government official Victoria
