Huge response needed in Haiti, said UN
United Nation's chief on Monday said about 1.4 million people needs emergency aid from international community following the last week's battering by Hurricane Matthew.
The Hurricane Matthew left 372 people dead and the toll likely to rise rescue continue. UN has launched a US$120 million to cover the needs.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said a massive response is required, "some towns and villages have been almost wiped off the map."
The hurricane had triggered the worst humanitarian crisis in Haiti since the 2010 earthquake, said UN aid chief Stephen O'Brien.
