Iraqi army retake Christian region from IS



Iraqi troops advanced after recapture the Christian region from Islamic state after heavily storm. This is the United State backed operation to clear the IS militants from the second city of Iraqi's Mosul. IS took control of Christian region since 2014.


The victory came as US Defence Secretary Ash Carter meeting Iraqi's Prime Minister Haider al-Abdi.


The issued military statement said Iraqis units entered the center of Qaraqosh , a mainly Christian town about 20 km southern of Mosul.
