US to send 330 troops in Norway
United to deploy over 300 troops in Norway as set to upset neighboring Russia.
Norwegian defence ministry said the troops of 330 marines will be stationed on rotation around 1,000 km from the Russia border. The Marines will be engaged in training and manoeuvres in almost Arctic conditions.
The ministry statement said US initiative is welcome and also fits well within ongoing process in NATO to increase exercises, training and interloper ability within the Alliance. The deployment will begin in January.
NATO also said it would deploy on a rotation basis four multinational battalions to Poland and Baltic.
